    Our History

    Caterbirds Caterhire is a catering and event equipment hire based in Dumfries & Galloway. The company was started with the aim to supply individuals and catering businesses in the Dumfries and Galloway, Scottish Borders, Cumbria and Northumberland with a reliable and quality hire service, and help with the hassle-free organising of any event in the South of Scotland and the North of England. Caterbirds was started in 1980 as a family-run farmhouse catering company. The company has grown over the years to become a much larger business, but retaining the family-run and customer service ethos. In recent years we decided to expand our business to include the hire of catering equipment to individuals and other catering businesses, as well as hotels, restaurants, organisations, etc. Having been in the catering business for 35 years, we understand that all customers’ events are very special celebrations and we aim to provide the quality and elegance that will enhance a setting to remember on that special date. With our experience in the business of catering and events, we are able to advise customers on a series of matters, and we understand better than many of our competitors what is needed on the actual day, and how important it is to have good quality product and a 100% customer focused service.

    How we work

    At Caterbirds Caterhire we understand the amount of work and stress levels that any event preparation requires, and we aim to provide a service that will ease those, by closely working with customers on what, how, when and where items will be delivered and collected. We try to be as flexible as possible to adapt to our customers’ requirements, and will offer advice whenever this is requested. Once the event has past, we will collect your hire (when this is required) at a time suitable to you, which will have previously been arranged. We will take everything unwashed, which I am sure all business and individual customers will appreciate, takes a whole lot of work from any event. Everything gets washed, sanitized and packed away on our premises, spotlessly clean, and ready for the next hire!
